Job summary

Smartkarma is seeking a senior independent analyst to build and scale comprehensive ASEAN equities coverage, with a particular focus on Indonesia and the broader ASEAN region.

Experience delivering high-impact, data-driven research and bespoke client services to institutional clients is required, with an ability to write clear research and engage with clients in a high-touch manner.

Strong network across ASEAN markets and a track record of producing actionable insights will be highly valued.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of institutional investment research experience.
• Strong network across ASEAN equity markets.
• Proven ability to produce research reports.

Responsibilities

• Equity bottom-up analysis with tear-sheets and channel checks.
• Thematic commentary on economic and sector drivers across ASEAN.
• Valuation and peer analyses for relative-value benchmarks.

Research coverage will entail

• Equity bottom-up analysis: company tear-sheets, channel checks, management-meeting takeaways
• Thematic commentary: economic & sectoral drivers across ASEAN markets
• Valuation and relative-value frameworks: benchmark comparisons and peer analyses
• Event-driven briefs: earnings previews, corporate actions, and capital-markets updates

You will also be expected to offer a high-touch service for select institutional clients

Qualifications

• Extensive research and/or investment experience for institutional clients (10 yrs+)
• Proven track record and an extensive network across ASEAN equity capital markets
• Demonstrated ability to write research
