Job summary

Unilever Oleochemical Indonesia in North Sumatera seeks a strategic ICAE Manager to drive instrumentation, control, and electrical reliability across the plant. You will shape ICAE strategies, strengthen asset integrity, and lead safety, performance, and continuous improvement.

You will oversee maintenance, budgets, and teams, coordinate with engineering and operations, and ensure compliance with HSE and ISO standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, or Electronics Engineering.
• Willing to relocate to Sei Mangkei, North Sumatra.
• Professional English fluency.
• 10–15 years of experience in oleochemical, petrochemical, refinery, or chemical plants.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing technical teams and contractors.
• Strong expertise in DCS, PLC, SIS, SCADA, F&G, and field instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead instrumentation, control system, and electrical maintenance activities.
• Manage DCS, PLC, SIS, ESD, F&G, SCADA systems and field instruments.
• Ensure reliability of motors, MCCs, switchgear, transformers, UPS, VFDs, generators.
• Drive preventive, predictive, corrective, and shutdown maintenance strategies.
• Ensure compliance with HSE, electrical safety, hazardous area, and functional safety standards.
• Lead root cause analysis, PM optimization, and reliability improvement programs.
• Oversee calibration, testing, inspections, and certification records.
• Support MOC, plant modifications, commissioning, and start-up activities.

Job description

We are looking for a highly skilled ICAE Manager to join our leadership team. This role is pivotal in enhancing instrumentation and electrical reliability, minimizing operational risks, and driving efficient, cost-effective plant operations.

This role is pivotal in enhancing instrumentation and electrical reliability, minimizing operational risks, and driving efficient, cost-effective plant operations of Unilever Oleochemical Indonesia at North Sumatera, Indonesia. As a key leader, you will shape ICAE strategies, strengthen asset integrity, and play a critical role in ensuring operational excellence and sustainable performance across the plant

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead all instrumentation, control system, and electrical maintenance activities
• Manage systems including DCS, PLC, SIS, ESD, F&G, SCADA, field instruments, and analyzers
• Ensure high reliability of motors, MCCs, switchgear, transformers, UPS, VFDs, and generators
• Drive preventive, predictive, corrective, and shutdown maintenance strategies
• Ensure compliance with HSE, electrical safety, hazardous area, and functional safety standar
• Lead root cause analysis, PM optimization, and reliability improvement programs
• Oversee calibration, testing, inspections, and certification records
• Support MOC, plant modifications, commissioning, and start-up activities
• Lead shutdown preparation and execution for ICAE scopes
• Develop and coach engineers, supervisors, technicians, and contractors
• Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts strategy, and asset lifecycle planning
• Maintain accurate records in CMMS and compliance documentation

Requirements & Experience

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems (MCC, transformers, UPS, VFDs, generators
• Familiarity with Profibus, Modbus, Foundation Fieldbus, HART, Ethernet/IP, OPC
• Experience with ISO standards, HSE, CMMS, RCA, MOC, shutdown & commissioning
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
