Job summary

Kyndryl Inc. is seeking an AI Storage Engineer in Jakarta to design, operate, and optimize IBM Spectrum Scale (GPFS) environments supporting AI, ML, and HPC workloads.

You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability, data integrity, and scalable storage performance in a distributed compute setting. The role emphasizes hands-on GPFS expertise, storage policy development, and incident-driven improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in enterprise storage, distributed file systems, or data center environments.
• Deep hands-on experience with IBM Spectrum Scale (GPFS) architecture and operations.
• Strong GPFS concepts: NSDs, filesets, storage pools, replication, and cluster management.
• Experience installing and maintaining enterprise storage clusters and distributed filesystem environments.
• Knowledge of SAN/NAS, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, SMB networking.
• Experience with RCA and performance troubleshooting across storage, networking, and clusters.
• Familiarity with change, incident, and problem management processes.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management; English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain GPFS clusters, NSDs, filesystems, and storage pools.
• Monitor capacity, IOPS, latency, throughput, and cluster health for high availability.
• Manage GPFS components: quorum nodes, policies, replication, and lifecycle management.
• Perform RCA and troubleshooting for storage, performance, and connectivity issues.
• Support storage lifecycle activities: upgrades, migrations, and capacity expansions.
• Develop and implement storage policies, quotas, and data placement strategies.
• Collaborate with compute, network, platform, and application teams for AI/HPC workloads.
• Participate in incident response and continuous improvement to strengthen reliability.
