Job summary

Kyndryl is seeking a GPFS Storage Engineer to administer IBM Spectrum Scale clusters, NSDs, and storage pools in Jakarta. The role focuses on hands-on operations, incident restoration, and improving runbooks while coordinating with network teams for storage paths.

You will diagnose storage bottlenecks, monitor IOPS and latency, and contribute to root-cause analyses. The ideal candidate has 3–5+ years of enterprise storage experience and strong Linux scripting skills.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of enterprise or HPC storage engineering experience.
• Hands-on Spectrum Scale/GPFS administration.
• Strong Linux troubleshooting and performance analysis skills.
• Experience with SAN/NAS, Fibre Channel and/or Ethernet/RDMA connectivity.

Responsibilities

• Administer Spectrum Scale clusters, filesystems, NSDs, filesets, storage pools and policies within approved change controls.
• Troubleshoot node, disk, NSD, path, mount, quorum and connectivity conditions and restore service using documented recovery procedures.
• Analyze capacity, IOPS, latency and throughput to identify basic bottlenecks.
• Use Spectrum Scale mm* commands and vendor tools to collect health data.
• Support drive/node replacement, hardware recovery, firmware changes and post-change validation.
• Collaborate with network teams on RDMA/InfiniBand storage paths.
• Own ticket and SLA progression, maintain docs, mentor L1 engineers and improve runbooks.
