Ascott Indonesia seeks an accomplished Hotel Manager to lead a premier property in Surabaya. You will direct operations, drive revenue growth, and ensure exceptional guest experiences while upholding the Ascott brand and sustainability goals.

You will manage owners and stakeholders, develop talent, and maintain rigorous governance, budgeting, and safety standards, contributing to long-term profitability and market leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or related discipline.
  • Min 5–10 years of senior leadership experience in hospitality, incl. Hotel Manager role.
  • Experience with an international hotel or serviced residence operator is preferred.
  • Sales or Commercial leadership experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of the Surabaya hospitality market and business landscape.
  • Strong commercial background with proven sales, revenue growth and profitability.
  • Proven ability to manage owner relationships and balance stakeholder expectations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and people development capabilities.
  • Strong financial acumen with budgeting, forecasting and P&L accountability.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in a dynamic environment.
  • Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia.

Responsibilities

  • Lead overall operations and strategic direction to hit revenue, profitability and guest satisfaction targets.
  • Drive commercial performance via sales, marketing, distribution and revenue management.
  • Develop and execute annual business plans, budgets, forecasts and initiatives.

About the Role

As Hotel Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and performance of the property, ensuring the delivery of exceptional guest experiences, sustainable financial results, and a strong people culture. Reporting to the Country Operations leadership, you will drive commercial success, operational excellence, talent development, and owner satisfaction while upholding Ascott's standards, values, and brand reputation.

The successful candidate will be a commercially driven hospitality leader with a strong track record in business growth, team leadership, and stakeholder management within internationally branded hotels or serviced residences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the overall operations and strategic direction of the property to achieve revenue, profitability, guest satisfaction, and market share objectives.
  • Drive commercial performance through effective sales, marketing, distribution, and revenue management strategies.
  • Develop and execute annual business plans, budgets, forecasts, and operational initiatives to deliver sustainable results.
  • Build strong relationships with property owners, corporate clients, government stakeholders, and key business partners.
  • Champion exceptional guest experiences and service excellence, ensuring all guest feedback is acted upon proactively and effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with Ascott operating standards, corporate governance requirements, health & safety regulations, and local statutory requirements.
  • Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team through coaching, succession planning, talent development, and performance management.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, inclusion, accountability, and continuous improvement in line with Ascott's people-centric values.
  • Drive operational efficiencies and productivity initiatives while maintaining service quality and brand standards.
  • Represent the property and Ascott brand within the local market, industry events, and community engagements.
  • Oversee crisis management, business continuity planning, and property risk management initiatives.
  • Support Ascott CARES sustainability and responsible business practices within daily operations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of senior leadership experience within the hospitality industry, including experience as a Hotel Manager.
  • Previous experience with an international hotel or serviced residence operator is highly preferred.
  • Prior experience in Sales or Commercial leadership roles will be a significant advantage.
  • Strong understanding of the Surabaya hospitality market, demand drivers, corporate segment, and business landscape.
  • Strong commercial background with demonstrated success in driving sales performance, revenue growth, and profitability.
  • Proven ability to manage owner relationships and balance stakeholder expectations while delivering business objectives.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and people development capabilities.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, and P&L accountability.
  • Ability to make sound decisions, solve complex business challenges, and lead effectively in a dynamic environment.
