The Arnott's Group Indonesia is seeking a Safety Engineer to lead safety inspections, risk assessments, and compliance across manufacturing sites in Bekasi. The role focuses on SMK3 compliance, PTW management, and fostering a proactive safety culture among employees and contractors.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, plus 2–4 years in safety/engineering within manufacturing or construction, and strong English reporting skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Ahli K3 Umum certification (or equivalent) is highly preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience as a Safety/Engineer in manufacturing or construction.
• Strong understanding of hazard identification, risk assessment, and safety compliance practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to engage employees at all levels.
• Strong report-writing skills and ability to prepare safety documentation in English.

Responsabilités

• Perform regular safety inspections, audits, and site walkthroughs to ensure SMK3 and regulations compliance.
• Identify unsafe acts/conditions and take immediate corrective actions.
• Ensure proper use of PPE across all areas.
• Monitor safety signage, exits, and pathways for a safe workplace.
• Support supervisors in preparing JSA and HIRADC documentation.
• Review and issue PTW for high-risk activities (hot work, confined spaces, heights, lifting).
• Monitor contractor safety performance and compliance with site procedures.
• Deliver safety inductions and orientations for new employees and contractors.
• Facilitate toolbox talks, safety briefings, and awareness programs.
• Promote Behavioral-Based Safety and encourage active participation in safety.
• Respond to incidents, conduct investigations, and perform root cause analysis.
• Prepare incident reports and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor accident-free hours, near-miss records, and other HSE metrics.

What You'll Do

Safety Inspection & Compliance

• Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and site walkthroughs to ensure compliance with SMK3 and applicable regulations.
• Identify unsafe acts and conditions, and take immediate action to prevent potential incidents.
• Ensure the proper and consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) across all operational areas.
• Monitor safety signage, emergency exits, and pedestrian pathways to maintain a safe and compliant workplace.

Risk Assessment & Work Permit Management

• Support supervisors in preparing and reviewing Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and HIRADC documentation.
• Review and issue Permits to Work (PTW) for high-risk activities, including hot work, confined space entry, working at heights, and critical lifting operations.
• Monitor contractor safety performance and ensure compliance with site safety requirements and procedures.

Safety Training & Culture Development

• Deliver safety inductions and orientation programs for new employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Facilitate Toolbox Talks, safety briefings, and awareness programs to reinforce a proactive safety mindset.
• Promote Behavioral-Based Safety (BBS) initiatives and encourage active employee participation in maintaining a safe workplace.
• Respond promptly to workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses.
• Conduct investigations, gather evidence, interview relevant parties, and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Prepare accurate incident reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor and maintain safety performance data, including accident-free man-hours, near-miss records, and other HSE metrics.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Valid Ahli K3 Umum certification (or equivalent occupational safety certification) is highly preferred.
• Minimum 2-4 years of experience as a Safety/Engineer role, preferably within manufacturing or construction.
• Strong understanding of hazard identification, risk assessment, and safety compliance practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
• Strong report-writing skills and the ability to prepare clear and accurate safety documentation in English.
• Able to stay calm, decisive, and organized when handling emergencies or high-pressure situations.
