Responsibilities

• Collaborate with R&D to brainstorm and develop new product concepts.
• Source innovative packaging materials for seafood products and conduct related R&D.
• Maintain and update project priorities and statuses across the development pipeline.
• Oversee shipment of product samples and coordinate delivery materials using third party couriers.
• Coordinate and track samples with packing facilities and external partners.
• Create detailed sample specifications and ensure sample fittings are accurate at offline facilities.
• Keep sample tracking systems updated and organized.
• Coordinate packaging artwork with design teams and ensure nutrition facts are accurate.
• Calculate and verify nutrition panels in coordination with the team.
• Create new product specifications and update existing ones.
• Manage quality feedback from partners and ensure issues are resolved.
• Capture and maintain accurate pricing data.
• Input and manage content for the product catalog and assist with occasional office tasks.

Job description

Haven Foods is an Indonesian exporter of premium shrimp products. We supply cooked shrimp, raw shrimp, seasoned shrimp, and bakeable shrimp in metal trays to international buyers, with packaging built to a premium retail standard.

The Role

You will be the engine that keeps our product development, packaging, and sampling processes running smoothly. You will wear many hats, bridging the gap between our R&D team, packaging partners, and logistics providers.

This is a hands-on role. You will own the details yourself as well as delegate them.

Key Responsibilities

Product Development and Innovation

• Collaborate with the R&D team to brainstorm and develop new product concepts
• Source innovative packaging materials suited to seafood products and execute related R&D
• Maintain and update project priorities and statuses across the development pipeline
• Oversee the shipment of product samples and coordinate delivery materials using third party couriers
• Request, coordinate, and track samples with our packing facilities and external partners.
• Create detailed sample specifications and ensure physical sample fittings are accurate at our offline facilities.
• Keep the sample tracking systems updated and organized.

Packaging and Artwork Coordination

• Partner with our design team to coordinate packaging artwork across all product lines
• Ensure all designs are accurate, including nutrition facts and ingredient lists

Quality, Compliance, and Documentation

• Calculate and verify nutrition panels in coordination with the team
• Create new product specifications and update existing ones
• Manage quality feedback from partners and ensure issues are resolved
• Capture and maintain accurate pricing data

Cross-Functional Support

• Input and manage content for the product catalog.
• Handle occasional office management tasks, including ordering supplies or machinery.

Requirements

• Fluent, professional English, written and spoken. This is non-negotiable. Our buyers, packaging partners, and technical documentation are all in English, and you will work in English daily. Candidates who cannot conduct a full interview in English will not proceed.
• Minimum 3 years in product development, R&D, or technical project coordination within the food industry. Manufactured food or beverage experience is required
• Working knowledge of food product specifications and nutrition panels. You should have created or maintained product specs before, not only read them.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and project management tools (Trello or Notion)
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with internal teams, external packers, and designers.
• A proactive, problem-solving mindset and a positive, collaborative attitude.
• Willing to work on-site in Surabaya. Relocation is at your own arrangement.
