Amartha in Indonesia is seeking a senior underwriting leader to drive the strategy and credit decisioning framework for its micro-lending portfolio, balancing risk, growth, and customer quality to sustain objectives.

You will design and continuously improve underwriting policies, scorecards, and decision engines, while partnering with Product, Data, Technology and Operations to build scalable capabilities and manage a team of analysts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
• Minimum 5+ years in credit risk/underwriting in financial services.
• At least 3 years in a leadership/managerial role.
• Experience with retail lending, digital lending, or fintech.
• Strong analytical, risk judgment, and ability to translate growth strategy into scalable credit strategy.
• Proficiency with analytics tools like SQL, Python/R, SAS.

Responsabilités

• Own underwriting strategy for micro lending portfolios and translate risk appetite into criteria and policies.
• Periodically review policies based on portfolio performance and market changes.
• Design and maintain credit decisioning framework, including scorecards and risk segmentation.
• Monitor approval, booking/disbursement, cohort performance, and repayment metrics.
• Embed fraud risk identification in the underwriting process.
• Collaborate with Product, Data, Technology and Operations to scale underwriting capabilities.
• Lead and grow the analytics team.
