Job summary

The Bench Group in Bali is seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead our culinary team in Canggu - Uluwatu. You will uphold top standards of food preparation, presentation and quality while supporting the Head Chef in delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years in professional kitchens, with 2–3 years in senior roles, formal culinary training, strong leadership, HACCP knowledge, and a track record of mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years of professional culinary experience.
• Formal culinary training or recognised chef qualification (e.g. City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent).
• Strong technical skills in food preparation and cooking techniques across multiple cuisines.
• Proven leadership and team management abilities with mentoring staff.
• Excellent understanding of food safety, hygiene regulations and HACCP principles.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the highest standards of food preparation, presentation and quality.
• Support the Head Chef in delivering exceptional dining experiences.
• Lead and train kitchen staff in a fast-paced environment.
• Manage menu development across multiple cuisines.
• Oversee inventory, ordering and cost control where applicable.

As Head Chef, you will be instrumental in maintaining the highest standards of food preparation, presentation and quality whilst supporting the Head Chef in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. This role is perfect for a skilled culinary professional looking to make a significant impact in a fast-paced hospitality setting.

Qualification:

Minimum 5–7 years of professional culinary experience, with at least 2–3 years in a senior or supervisory kitchen role

Formal culinary training or recognised chef qualification (e.g. City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent)

Strong technical skills in food preparation, cooking techniques and menu development across multiple cuisines

Proven leadership and team management abilities, with experience training and mentoring kitchen staff

Excellent understanding of food safety, hygiene regulations and HACCP principles

Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge of inventory management, costing and food waste reduction

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

Flexibility and adaptability to work in a diverse hospitality setting

Experience working in international or high-end hospitality establishments is highly desirable
