PT MEGALIFT ASIA JAYA invites a seasoned General Manager to own the Indonesia General Cargo freight forwarding business. You will drive revenue, profitability, customer acquisition, and operations from an entrepreneurial, hands-on base.

The role demands a strong network, mastery of sea/air freight and Indonesian customs, plus leadership of a 2–3-person CS/BD team. You will set pricing, budgets and annual plans with Group alignment, while ensuring compliance and scalable processes as the business

Formación

• Bachelor's degree required.
• At least 10 years of freight forwarding experience in Indonesia, including at least 5 years in a senior commercial or management role.
• Proven track record: success in winning customers and growing General Cargo revenue and profit.
• Ability to build a core team of 2-3 CS/BD executives to grow the business immediately.
• Strong knowledge of sea freight (FCL/LCL), air freight, Indonesian customs procedures and inland transportation.
• Established relationships with shipping lines, airlines, co-loaders and customers in Indonesia.
• Experience managing a P&L or business unit, including pricing, costing and budgeting.
• Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
• Entrepreneurial, hands-on and comfortable building a business from an early stage.

Responsabilidades

• Build the General Cargo freight forwarding business from the ground up including sea and air freight, customs clearance and inland transport.
• Lead customer acquisition and secure new shippers, consignees and key accounts.
• Grow share of wallet with existing customers via cross-selling and total logistics solutions.
• Coordinate with Group offices and overseas agents to secure nomination and reciprocal business.
• Own the Indonesia General Cargo P&L including revenue, gross profit and costs.
• Develop and deliver annual business plans, budgets and targets aligned with Group direction.
• Set pricing, tariffs and proposals that are competitive and profitable for Management approval.
• Initial setup to recruit 2-3 CS/BD executives and build a high-performing team.
• Establish efficient operating processes for bookings, documentation, customs clearance and shipment tracking.
• Ensure full compliance with Indonesian regulations and Group policies.

PT. Megalift Asia Jaya is the Indonesian arm of MTML Group, a Malaysian logistics group specialising in freight forwarding, heavy-lift and project logistics. Backed by the Group's regional network and resources, we are now expanding into General Cargo freight forwarding in Indonesia.

About the role

As General Manager, you will take full ownership of the Indonesia General Cargo business - revenue, profitability, customers, operations and people. Your first priority is to establish and grow our General Cargo freight forwarding business (sea freight FCL/LCL, air freight, customs clearance, inland transportation & warehousing services). This is a hands-on, entrepreneurial role.

Key responsibilities

• Build the General Cargo freight forwarding business from the ground up - sea freight (FCL/LCL), air freight, customs clearance and domestic/inland transport.
• Personally lead customer acquisition; secure new shippers, consignees and key accounts across target industries and trade lanes.
• Grow share of wallet with existing customers through cross-selling and one-stop, total logistics solutions.
• Work with Group offices and overseas agents to secure nomination and reciprocal business.
• Own the General Cargo Indonesia P&L - revenue, gross profit, operating costs and overall performance.
• Develop and deliver annual business plans, budgets and targets in line with Group direction.
• Set pricing, tariffs and commercial proposals that are competitive and profitable, for Management approval.
• Bring on board 2-3 experienced CS/BD executives at the outset and build a capable, high-performing team as the business grows.
• Set up efficient operating processes for bookings, documentation, customs clearance, trucking and shipment tracking.
• Ensure full compliance with Indonesian customs (Bea Cukai), trade, tax and labour regulations, as well as Group policies.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least 10 years of freight forwarding experience in Indonesia, including at least 5 years in a senior commercial or management role.
• Proven track record: Demonstrated success in winning customers and growing General Cargo freight forwarding revenue and profit.
• Ability to build, from your own professional network, a core team of 2-3 experienced Customer Service or Business Development executives to grow the business immediately.
• Strong knowledge of sea freight (FCL/LCL), air freight, Indonesian customs procedures and inland transportation.
• Established relationships with shipping lines, airlines, co-loaders and customers in the Indonesian market.
• Experience managing a P&L or business unit, including pricing, costing and budgeting.
• Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
• Entrepreneurial, hands-on and comfortable building a business from an early stage.
• Monthly salary of IDR 45,000,000-60,000,000, plus an attractive performance-based incentive.
