General Ledger Accountant

Job summary

Sephora Indonesia is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to maintain accurate ledgers and support financial reporting in a fast-paced retail environment. You will handle journal entries, reconciliations, IFRS compliance, and monthly to annual reports, while ensuring controls and audit readiness.

Qualified candidates have a Finance/Accounting degree, 1-3 years of experience (Big 4 preferred), strong Excel skills, and experience with SAP or a similar ERP system. English fluency is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA/CA is preferred.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably gained in the Big 4.
• Fluent in English; experience working or studying in an English-language environment is sufficient.
• Strong Excel skills with some experience with a large ERP system such as SAP.
• Highly analytical with great problem-solving skills.
• Good communicator and able to build effective relationships with peers and internal customers.

Responsibilities

• Preparing journal entries and reconciliations to maintain the accuracy of the general ledger including fixed assets, inventory and accruals
• Ensuring all transactions are recorded in accordance with IFRS
• Completing monthly, quarterly and annual reporting for management while adhering to required deadlines
• Preparing all Audit Schedules and assisting with Audit inquiries
• Preparing statutory compliance submissions, including audit, tax and secretarial
• Ensuring work is completed in accordance with the Group Internal Control Policies
• Ensuring controls are maintained in the fixed asset listing and vendor listing

General Ledger Accountant

As a General Ledger Accountant within our team, you will report to the Finance Controlling Manager for Shared Services and will play a key role in ensuring the effectiveness of the ongoing financial operations, and will be expected to take complete ownership for your areas of focus.
