Job summary

Terraformation is seeking a Restoration Technician to implement and care for forestry projects across Hawaiʻi. The role involves hands-on fieldwork, traveling between sites on Hawaiʻi Island, and reporting to the field supervisor.

You will work both independently and with a team, supporting nursery tasks and other tasks as needed, with competitive benefits and a clear path to contribute to climate-focused forest restoration.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of forestry fieldwork experience.
• Experience operating power tools and field equipment.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in both dry and wet conditions.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Work cohesively with managers and peers to successfully implement restoration projects.
• Plant, maintain, and monitor restoration plants in the field, including fertilizing and mulching.
• Perform weed control by hand, with herbicides, or using field tools.
• Move rocks, check fence lines, and perform light maintenance on equipment.
• Set up and monitor irrigation lines; record GPS locations of outplantings daily.
• Document field conditions and participate in required trainings.
