Job summary

Philip Morris International is seeking a Flavor Scientist to develop, optimize, and deploy flavor solutions for Conventional Combustible products. The role emphasizes meeting GLP standards and coordinating with global markets.

You will work with procurement, quality, compliance, and manufacturing teams to ensure flavor integrity and supply security while keeping consumer insights at the forefront of product development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering preferred.
• 2–3 years of flavor experience in food, flavor houses, or tobacco.
• Fluent in English with good communication skills.
• Laboratory experience with proper GLP/governance.
• Analytical thinking and creativity for consumer flavor trends.
• Passion for continuous improvement in product development and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize flavor solutions for CC products.
• Ensure flavor specifications, quality standards, and GLP are met.
• Select and combine natural and synthetic ingredients for consumer-relevant flavors.
• Adapt and deploy flavor systems across markets and meet milestones.
• Manage flavor formulas and specs with manufacturing needs in mind.
• Drive productivity via cost analysis, ingredient optimization, and process improvements.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Quality, Compliance, and Manufacturing for supply security and product excellence.
• Act as a technical expert on flavors and maintain flavor databases.

What You’ll Do

• Develop, maintain, and optimize flavor solutions for Conventional Combustible (CC) products.
• Ensure flavor specifications, quality standards, and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) are consistently met.
• Select and combine natural and synthetic ingredients to create consumer-relevant flavor experiences.
• Adapt and deploy flavor systems across markets while ensuring timely delivery of project milestones.
• Manage flavor formulas and specifications with industrial-scale manufacturing requirements in mind.
• Drive productivity initiatives through cost analysis, ingredient optimization, and process improvements.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Quality, Compliance, and Manufacturing teams to ensure supply security and product excellence.
• Act as a technical expert on flavors and ingredients, while maintaining internal flavor and ingredient databases.

Skills & Capabilities

• Min. Bachelor’s degree in relevant educational background (Chemical Engineering) is preferred.
• Min. 2-3 years of experience around Flavors (application and quality) from Food, Flavor Houses, or Tobacco industry.
• Fluent in English with good communication skills.
• Relevant laboratory experience, including proper practices and governance.
• Possess good analytical thinking and creativity on understanding the growing consumer trends on flavor profiles and product development.
• Has passion and curiosity for continuous improvement, not limited to product development and manufacturing.
