Job summary

Novotel Samator Surabaya Timur is seeking an experienced finance professional to lead accounting, reporting, budgeting, and internal controls for the 264-room property.

The role requires 3+ years in hotel accounting within a 4-star or international property, with USALI knowledge, PMs/POS familiarity, and strong Excel skills; join Accor’s global network with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA/CA/CMA/ACCA is advantageous.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in hotel accounting or hospitality finance in a 4-star hotel/264+ room property.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Proficiency with hotel accounting systems, PMS, POS, and finance software; advanced Excel.
• Knowledge of tax regulations and statutory reporting; USALI knowledge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Lead annual operating budget and forecasts with department heads and GM.
• Monitor revenue, expenses, payroll, payables/receivables, and GL reconciliations.
• Ensure tax compliance, licensing, insurance obligations, and GAAP adherence.

Job Description

• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement with accuracy and timeliness.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual operating budget process and periodic financial forecasts in collaboration with department heads and General Manager to support strategic planning.
• Cost & Cash Flow Control: Monitor daily revenue, expenses, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger reconciliation to safeguard hotel assets and optimize cash position.
• Compliance & Auditing: Ensure the property's compliance with local tax laws, licensing requirements, insurance obligations, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and direct the accounting and night audit teams to maintain high standards of transaction accuracy and professional development.
• Internal Controls & Risk Management: Develop and implement robust internal control procedures to prevent fraud, minimize financial risks, and ensure operational integrity across all accounting functions.
• Financial System Management: Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of accounting software and financial systems to enhance efficiency and data accuracy.
• Stakeholder Reporting & Communication: Prepare and present financial reports and performance metrics to senior management, ownership, and external stakeholders to support informed decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional certification such as CPA, CA, CMA, or ACCA is advantageous.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in hotel accounting or hospitality finance within a 4-star hotel chain or international property with 264+ rooms.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Proficiency with hotel accounting systems, PMS, POS, and finance software, plus advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Solid understanding of tax regulations, statutory reporting, and compliance requirements.
• Knowledge of USALI (Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry) is advantageous.
