Job summary

BDx Data Centers is hiring to lead and manage a facilities team responsible for operating and maintaining mission critical data centre environments around the clock. You will drive project engineering for additions and alterations, while coordinating with contractors, vendors and internal stakeholders to meet service levels.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and familiarity with ISO certifications.

Qualifications

• Degree / Higher Diploma in Building Services, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3+ years experience in operation and maintenance of 24x7 mission critical facilities.
• Strong teamwork, project management, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of ISO certification and audits.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage facilities technicians to operate and maintain mission critical facilities 24x7.
• Project engineer for additions and alterations for new and existing customers.
• Oversee contractors and vendors for operation, maintenance and repair.
• Respond to emergencies and lead teams to restore service levels.
• Develop, review and revise O&M requirements, procedures and programmes.
• Participate in ISO certifications and audits.
• Maintain inventories of facilities, equipment and tools.
• Train technicians to follow SOPs, escalation and incident/change processes.
• Assist reporting manager in administering the facilities team.
• Work in shifting model: 6 days on, 2 days off.

Job description

• Lead and manage facilities technicians to operate and maintain mission critical facilities of data centres on 24x7 basis to achieve service level requirements and specifications.
• Project engineer of addition & alternation works of new and existing customers.
• Manage contractors and vendors in operation, maintenance and repair of mission critical facilities.
• Respond to emergencies and lead the facilities technicians and service vendors to resume availability and service levels of the data centres.
• Develop, review and revise operation & maintenance requirements, procedures and programmes with internal parties and service vendors. Evaluate vendor performance and report to manager.
• Participate in ISO certifications and audits.
• Maintain and update accurate inventories of facilities, apparatus and tools.
• Lead and train technicians to follow and comply with standard operating procedures, escalation procedures, incident & change procedures.
• Assist reporting manager in administration of the facilities team.
• Work in Shifting model (6 days duty – 2 days off) disregarding public holiday, 8 hours per Day.

Qualification and Experience:

• Degree / Higher Diploma graduates in Building Services/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3 years or above experience in operation and maintenance of 24x7 mission critical facilities.
• Good team player, strong project management, communication, presentation and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge and experience in ISO certification and audits.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
