Job summary

PT Flextronics Technology Indonesia in Batam is seeking a Facilities Senior Engineer to plan, operate, maintain and continuously improve facility infrastructure and building systems for safe, efficient manufacturing. The role reports to the Facilities Director and is based in Batam, Indonesia.

You will manage daily operations of electrical, HVAC, CDA, PCW and other utility systems, drive capital projects, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead energy-saving initiatives with a focus on

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Facilities or related).
• 4–6 years of facilities engineering or management experience in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of utility systems, facility infrastructure and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent project management and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word for budgets, reports and problem solving.
• Good command of English to communicate with plants from other countries.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operation and maintenance of facility systems including electrical, HVAC, CDA, PCW, vacuum, N2, water and wastewater, fire protection and BMS.
• Ensure uptime, reliability, and safety of facility systems.
• Ensure compliance with regulations such as DOE, DOSH, BOMBA, ST and local authorities.
• Manage permits, licenses, inspections, and regulatory submissions.
• Lead facility-related expansion, renovation and capital projects.
• Manage project scope, budget, schedule and contractor performance.
• Review engineering designs and construction activities.
• Monitor and optimize utility consumption and energy efficiency initiatives.
• Manage contractors and service providers to ensure safety and standards.
• Support EHS programs, risk assessments and emergency planning for facilities.
• Prepare and manage facilities Opex and Capex budgets; monitor spending.

Job description

Responsible for the planning, operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of facility infrastructure, utilities, and building systems to support manufacturing operations safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. The Facilities Senior Engineer will be based in Batam, Indonesia, reporting to Facilities Director.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operation and maintenance of facility systems, including electrical distribution systems, HVAC and chiller systems, Compressed Dry Air (CDA), Process Cooling Water (PCW), vacuum systems, nitrogen (N₂) systems, water supply and wastewater treatment systems, fire protection systems, and Building Management System (BMS)
• Ensure facility systems achieve required uptime and reliability targets
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards, including DOE, DOSH, BOMBA, Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST), and Local Authority requirements
• Manage permits, licenses, inspections, and regulatory submissions
• Lead facility-related expansion, renovation, and capital projects
• Manage project scope, budget, schedule, and contractor performance
• Review engineering designs, specifications, and construction activities
• Monitor and optimize utility consumption including electricity, water, gas, and compressed air
• Identify and implement energy-saving and sustainability initiatives
• Manage contractors and service providers and ensure work is performed safely and according to company standards
• Support EHS programs and initiatives, conduct risk assessments, and lead emergency response and business continuity planning related to facilities
• Prepare and manage facilities operational and capital expenditure budgets
• Monitor spending and implement cost reduction initiatives
• Drive reliability, efficiency, and sustainability improvements utilizing data analytics and preventive maintenance strategies

Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Facilities, or related Engineering discipline)
• Minimum 4-6 years of facilities engineering or management experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of utility systems, facility infrastructure, and regulatory compliance
• Excellent project management and leadership skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word to maintain budgets, expense reports, RCCA, and 8D methodology for problem solving
• Good command of English to communicate with plants from other countries
• Good supervisory and management skills to lead a team with various engineering backgrounds
• Good interaction skills to develop teamwork within Facility and other departments
• Able to work with ambiguity, be highly independent and willing to take initiative, challenge, and responsibilities
• Must be able to work at Batam, Indonesia
