Job summary

Flex is seeking a Facilities Senior Manager in Batam, Indonesia, to lead the Facility Engineering Section and act as SME for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance. You will drive strategy, budgeting, and continuous improvement to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient utility systems that support manufacturing and other facilities.

You will manage a team of engineers, collaborate across departments, and mentor staff while ensuring adherence to ESH standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Materials, Electrical, Chemicals, Electronics or related field).
• Minimum 9 years of progressive leadership experience in Facility positions.
• Strategic hands-on experience in managing Facility teams.
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word for budgets, RCCA, 8D, and reporting.
• Strong English communication with plant teams across countries.

Responsibilities

• Lead facility strategies and ensure continuous, stable operation of utilities meeting specifications for manufacturing and other facilities.
• Oversee hookups, troubleshooting, construction, environmental improvement, and expansion projects.
• Establish SOPs, FMEA, RCAC and CAPA processes, and legal compliance for facility utilities.
• Drive continuous improvement for operational excellence, cost savings, and EHS compliance.
• Manage section budgets and annual OPEX/CAPEX.
• Provide training, development, and mentorship to engineering staff.
• Collaborate with other departments and management on facility issues.

Job description

Responsible for overall Facility Utility System and lead Engineering Section System Matter Expert (SME) on equipment / system preventive, predictive & corrective maintenance, including equipment / system design improvement, upgrading, addition of Facility and / or Manufacturing towards delivering Key Performance Index (KPI). The Facilities Senior Manager will be based in Batam, Indonesia, reporting to Facilities Director.

Responsibilities

Lead & develop Facility strategies and ensure execution in providing continuous, stable operation meeting utilities specification requirement to manufacturing plant and all other facilities relevant support.

Lead team to meet plant requirements including hookup/un-hookup, troubleshooting, workshop service, new construction build up, production environmental improvement, renovation, expansion projects, etc.

Establish Operation and Maintenance Standard Operating Procedure, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, Root Cause & Control Action Plan, Out of Control Action Plan and Legal compliance for overall facility utility.

Lead continual improvement on system & process enhancement to ensure operational excellence, cost saving / reduction and compliance to quality and environmental, health and safety requirement.

Oversee and manage the administration of Facility Engineering Section expenses and annual operation & capital budget.

Promote team to support for internal audit, cost down improvement, ESH sustainability, bright ideas, good catch and other company programs.

Coordinate & provide day‑to‑day advice and direction to SME on all Facility issues for operation stability, encourage bright idea implementation, coaching and people development.

Hire people, provide training and development programs as well as talent retention, including build teamwork and people engagement.

Maintain close working relationships with other facility sections, department managers and directors on facility issues, not limited to, normal / emergency operational.

Qualifications:

Minimum bachelor's degree in engineering: Mechanical, Materials, Electrical, Chemicals, Electronics, or any relevant field.

Minimum of 9 years of progressive leadership experience in Facility position.

Strategic Facility hand‑on experience of managing Facility team.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word to maintain various budget, expense report, RCCA, 8D methodology for problem solving, project management and presentation reports.

Good command in English to communicate with plant from other country.

Good supervisory and management skills to lead a team comprises of various Engineering background towards departmental goals.

Good interaction skills to develop teamwork within Facility and other departments.

Able to work with ambiguity, be highly independent and willing to take initiative, challenge, and responsibilities.

Must be able to work at Batam, Indonesia.
