Job summary

Weir Minerals U.S. is seeking an Export Import and Logistics Coordinator to manage day-to-day import/export shipments from Jakarta (preferred) or Balikpapan with a hybrid work setup. You will work with freight forwarders, customs authorities, and internal teams to ensure timely, compliant shipments across Indonesia and APAC regions.

The role emphasizes process improvements, HS code accuracy, and strong Excel skills to handle high-volume daily activities while maintaining Weir's safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Indonesian import/export operations experience with shipping documentation.
• Strong knowledge of HS codes and Indonesian customs portals.
• Experience with freight forwarders and customs authorities; excellent stakeholder communication.
• Proficiency in Excel for large product datasets and high-volume shipments.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day import and export shipments, including documentation and customs clearance; 80% imports, 20% exports.
• Ensure compliance with Indonesian regulations and Weir policies; advise on licensing and duties.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, brokers, and internal teams to resolve shipment issues and provide reports.
• Continuously improve import/export and logistics workflows to reduce delays and improve controls.
• Uphold safety culture and zero-harm principles in all logistics activities.

What you’ll do

• Import & Export Operations : Manage day-to-day import and export shipments, including preparing and reviewing shipping and customs documentation, coordinating customs clearance, and monitoring shipment status. You will handle approximately 80% imports and 20% exports, supporting shipments primarily into Indonesia and exports to Malaysia and other Asia-Pacific destinations. Success means timely, compliant shipments with minimal delays. Occasional travel may be required for customs and port coordination.
• Trade Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all import/export activities comply with Indonesian regulations and Weir policies. Review HS-code classifications, identify restricted products, and manage import license applications and amendments. You will advise suppliers on licensing restrictions and ensure accurate customs duty calculations and payments.
• Logistics Coordination & Reporting: Collaborate closely with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal teams (Finance, Sales, Customer Service) to resolve shipment issues, manage delivery risks, and provide accurate shipment and performance reports. You will communicate shipment timelines and customs requirements effectively to all stakeholders.
• Process Improvement: Continuously review and improve import, export, customs, and logistics workflows to streamline operations, reduce delays, and enhance documentation accuracy and operational controls. You will develop and document clear, efficient processes.

What you’ll bring

Must-haves:

• Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in Indonesian import/export operations, customs processes, and shipping documentation.
• Strong knowledge of HS codes, restricted product requirements, and Indonesian customs portals.
• Experience working with freight forwarders and customs authorities, with excellent stakeholder communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Excel for managing large product datasets and ability to manage high-volume daily shipment activities.

Nice-to-haves:

• Background in freight forwarding or licensed customs brokerage.
• Experience with Indonesian import license applications and re-export/free-trade-zone processes.
• Familiarity with manufacturing or mining products.
• Experience with SAP, Power BI, Power Apps, or other ERP systems.
• Relevant local customs or broker certifications.
