Job summary

amIT Global Solutions Sdn Bhd is seeking a Commercial Executive - Estimation to manage the full tendering process from RFQ to pre-award. You will coordinate with multiple departments to gather data and prepare Technical and Commercial Proposals.

The role requires 2–3 years in shipyard/fabrication environments, strong cost estimation skills, and proficiency with SAP for cost control. Collaboration with Legal is part of contract review and proposal finalisation.

Qualifications

• Diploma or engineering degree in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture.
• 2–3 years of experience in a shipyard or fabrication yard.

Responsibilities

• Receive RFQs from clients and prepare high-level summaries for proposal development.
• Coordinate with Project, Engineering, Planning, Production, QA/QC, Procurement and HSE to define scope and required documents per ITT/ITB.
• Raise technical clarifications with clients when details are missing or ambiguous.
• Develop cost estimates for materials, labour, subcontractors and other costs per project specs.
• Prepare cash flow projections to support payment milestones and terms.
• Prepare and submit Technical and Commercial Proposals.
• Handover tender documents, contracts and POs to Billing and Invoicing teams.

Job Summary

The Commercial Executive - Estimation is responsible for managing the end-to-end tendering process, from receiving client RFQs (Requests for Quotation) through pre-award.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Awarded

• Receive RFQs from clients.
• Review RFQs and prepare a high-level summary for the development of Technical and Commercial Proposals.
• Conduct coordination meetings with relevant departments (Project, Engineering, Planning, Production, QA/QC, Procurement, and HSE) to brief the project scope and identify required documents in accordance with ITT/ITB requirements.
• Raise technical clarifications to clients in cases of ambiguity, misunderstanding, or where additional technical details are required based on the RFQ.
• Perform sanction and compliance checks on the company and vessel.
• Develop cost estimates for materials, labor, subcontractors, and other cost components in accordance with project specifications.
• Review preliminary schedules and manpower loading prepared by the Planner to support cost estimation.
• Prepare estimated cash flow projections to support the establishment of payment milestones and terms.
• Prepare executive summary presentation decks for Management and Board of Directors (BOD) approval.
• Coordinate and gather technical data and inputs from Production, Planning, and other relevant departments for the Technical Proposal.
• Prepare and submit Technical and Commercial Proposals.
• Coordinate with Legal to review and follow up on draft contracts.
• Follow up closely with clients and obtain feedback on submitted proposals.

Awarded

• Monitor on draft contract and gather legal vetting between Owners legal team & Yard Legal
• Review final draft contract for management signature
• Following up on PO
• Handover Tender document, contract & PO to Billing Officer / Invoicing Team
• Conduct Handover meeting with Project manager, billing officer , Production, Engineering , Planning , Procurement and QA/QC team (information of project and Preparation for order Long lead item / bulk material) as state on quotation
• Filling and documentation tender document
• Assist Billing officer / invoicing team for cost planning on SAP

Key Requirements

Required Education & Qualifications

• Education: Diploma Degree / Engineering Degree on Marine Engineering / Naval architecture
• With 2 / 3 years Experiences in Shipyard / Fabrication Yard

• Expertise to preparing details cost estimate based on BOQ and build up cost based on historical data, current market price and existing tariff
