Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Early Childhood Educator at Middleton by EtonHouse Preschool Surabaya. The Early Childhood Educator's responsibilities include implementing the inquiry-based "Inquire-Think-Learn" curriculum, fostering creativity, working with children, and maintaining an organized learning environment. This role involves working closely with young children and providing them with a nurturing and stimulating educational experience.

Job Role & Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the preparation, planning and delivery of child-centered learning activities for the child in the class
- Use a variety of appropriate teaching and caring methods to ensure high quality learning takes place.
- Provide planning documents identifying specific learning objectives, differentiated tasks, special needs, extension and assessment, to the Principal or other authorized officer.
- Being a facilitator in the classroom and taking an interactive role with children. Encourage children to take pride in their own environment and show respect and concern for others, to the benefit of the school as a caring community.
- Be responsible for all aspects of classroom management e.g care of equipment with resources well-labelled and accessible. Maintain a tidy, well organised room.
- Create an interesting and lively classroom which promotes independent learning and aesthetic at the same, which would mean the classroom needs to be neat, tidy, clean and looks pleasing to the eyes.
- Collaborate with Pre-school Director and staff in establishing and developing effective pupil assessment procedures and moderation portfolios.
- Keep appropriate records of achievement for each child in class and provide reports as necessary.
- Build positive links between yourself and parents of children in your care hrough various ways, including but not limited to, in person discussion, Litttlives messages. Coordinating parent meetings where appropriate to review children’s progress
- Guide, motivate and monitor classroom helpers in carrying out their tasks.
- Being part of the PPP (primary preparation program) for Kindergarten students, which is currently scheduled 1-2 times a week, one hour each session.
- Complete the documentations on time according to its due date, which is set on the Termly School Housekeeping Calendar.
- Taking part as a committee for events (such as Christmas, Year End, Halloween, Art Auction, etc) in school.
- With best effort, to achieve the learning goals set by the school for each level and to complete our internal checklist form for each student
- In the situation where force majeure/ pandemic has been declared by the government and hybrid or online class is conducted, a teacher might be assigned to lead 2 classes.
Online Learning
- Should the school be forced to close by the Government as a result of pandemic or any sort of force majeure and the learning to be switched to online, roles and responsibility should remain the same.
- Leading two classes or two sessions are possible, depending on the number of students in the school as a whole as well as individual classes.
- Documentation (including but not limited to lesson planning, Home-Based Learning activities, newsletters, summary reports, etc) would experience changes according to the need of online learning, but still needs to be completed regardless.
- If Work From Home (WFH) would take into effect, working hours must be completed as per agreement.
- One-to-one classes with each and every single student will be made available during the online learning period.
- Planning and execution of planning for events (maximum 2 events per term) will be required despite online learning.
- Meetings would still take place despite WFH schedules and requires mandatory attendance.
