Job summary

Formulatrix Indonesia is seeking a Design & Manufacture Engineer in Central Java to design, prototype, test, and optimize mechanical components for automation lab equipment. You will build prototypes, evaluate results, and iteratively improve designs for manufacturing readiness.

With a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, document findings, and ensure project milestones are met while maintaining high engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma (D3/D4) in Mechanical Engineering / Mechatronics (fresh graduates welcome).
• Experience in mechanical design and manufacturing (machining and fabrication).
• Experience in mechanism design, automation, or special purpose machines.
• DFMEA/PFMEA, design improvement, trials, and root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Designing, prototyping, testing, and optimizing mechanical components and systems for automation lab equipment.
• Building prototypes of automation systems and mechanical components and iterating designs until ready for manufacture.
• Providing clear reports and documentation of development work.
• Reviewing existing products to identify and implement improvements.
• Managing team members and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
• Planning milestones, timelines, and project goals; overseeing project execution using engineering principles.

About the role

As a Design & Manufacture Engineer at Formulatrix Indonesia, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and prototyping of innovative automation lab equipment. This is a full-time position based in Central Java, where you will be responsible for designing, prototyping, testing, and optimizing mechanical components and systems to meet the objectives.

What will you do?

Conducting research and analysis to create the concept of new products.

Designing systems and components that meet the needs and requirements using engineering tools.

Building prototypes of automation systems and mechanical components, testing them, and improving the design until the product is ready to manufacture.

Providing good reports and documentation.

Reviewing and evaluating existing products to suggest ways to improve them.

Managing team members and working together to accomplish the goal.

Working and collaborating with other professionals, both inside and outside the engineering sector.

Planning milestones, project time frame, and goals.

Managing projects using engineering principles and techniques.

Monitoring and commissioning engineering system.

What are we looking for?

Educational Qualification

Minimum Diploma (D3/D4) in Mechanical Engineering / Mechatronics (fresh graduate are welcome to apply)

Experience

Has experience in mechanical design and manufacturing (machining and fabrication).

Has experience in mechanism design, automation, or special purpose machines.

DFMEA/PFMEA, design improvement, trials, and root cause analysis.

Technical Skills

Strong mechanical knowledge in kinematics, precision & moving assemblies, and small mechanisms/SPM.

Have the ability of using CAD/CAM (SolidWorks or Onshape is a plus).

Have the ability of operating CNC machine.

Good communication skills in English, both oral and written.

Soft Skills

Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.

Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
