Job summary

Wego in Jakarta is seeking a Data Scientist for our Data Analytics & Data Science team. You will build statistical models guiding pricing, bidding and conversion across our metasearch marketplace and hotel/flight products.

You'll own the statistical reasoning, validation and interpretation, and partner with engineering to productionize models. Experience in causal inference, Bayesian methods and cloud deployment is valued.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of experience in data science or statistics.
• Strong background in causal inference and experimental design.
• Experience building production models and deploying with engineers.
• Fluency with SQL and Python for data work.
• Experience with Bayesian methods and uncertainty.
• Ability to explain assumptions clearly to stakeholders.
• Experience with cloud platforms for data access and deployment.
• Familiarity with risk or actuarial analytics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design experiments and quasi-experiments to show real effects of pricing and bidding.
• Estimate price response and tradeoffs to guide pricing decisions.
• Build calibrated probability models for sparse data and changing conditions.
• Identify product opportunities and drive them to measurable outcomes.
• Explicitly state identification assumptions and test evidence.
• Quantify uncertainty with scenario analyses and sensitivity checks.
• Collaborate with engineers to deploy models and monitor them.
• Document assumptions and limitations for correct use.
