Job summary

Wesco is seeking a Technician - Data Center to perform data center tasks including server and network devices setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting. You will handle equipment operation, housekeeping, and documentation at project locations.

Responsibilities include diagnosing connectivity issues, engaging vendors, managing RMAs, and supporting moves/adds/changes while ensuring asset accuracy and capacity management. LD travel 0–25% may be required.

Qualifications

• 2 years in an enterprise Data Center environment.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting server hardware.
• Experience with Ethernet and fiber connectivity.
• Fluent in English.
• Valid driver's license and travel 0–25%.
• Field Service or Data Center Technician experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform weekly sweeps of server and storage equipment; analyze logs.
• Diagnose server/storage connectivity issues and troubleshoot network links.
• Engage vendor support by opening cases and tracking fixes.
• Coordinate with operations for breaks/fixes and repairs.
• Oversee RMA processes for components like rPDUs and switches.
• Provide hardware support for moves, adds, changes.
• Decommission IT equipment as needed.
• Conduct regular physical inspections and maintain asset records.
• Update documentation for cabling and materials.
• Oversee capacity in space, power, cooling, and patch panels.
• Follow incident and change management processes; report progress.
• Travel between sites as required; perform additional duties.
