Job summary

Wesco International, Inc. is seeking a Technician - Data Center to perform server, storage, and network support in a fast-paced data center environment. You will handle hardware troubleshooting, equipment sweeps, and collaborative incident response with vendors.

The role requires hands-on experience with data center practices, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks including RMAs, installations, and decommissioning. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or equivalent required; Bachelor's in IT or related field preferred.
• CCNA and CCNP preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in an enterprise Data Center environment with best-practice knowledge.
• Fluent in English and able to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform weekly sweeps of server and storage equipment, detecting hardware and network issues.
• Diagnose connectivity issues, troubleshoot transceivers and fiber signals.
• Open and coordinate vendor support cases with hardware vendors (HPE, Dell, IX, etc.).
• Coordinate break-and-fix logistics and escort vendor contractors for repairs.
• Manage Return Material Authorization (RMA) for components like PSUs, switches, and modules.
• Provide hardware support for installations, moves, adds, changes, and decommissions.
