Job summary

Wesco invites a skilled Data Center Technician to join our on-site team in Indonesia. You will handle a wide range of data center tasks, including server and storage setup, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance, while coordinating with vendors and operations to keep uptime high.

You will diagnose connectivity issues, manage RMAs, and support installations, moves, and changes. A focus on documentation, inventory, and capacity planning is essential, with travel up to 25% as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or Equivalent; Bachelor's in IT preferred.
• CCNA and CCNP preferred
• 2 years in enterprise Data Center environment
• Troubleshooting server hardware across major vendors
• Experience with Ethernet networking and fiber uplinks
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Fluent in English
• Valid driver's license
• Willingness to travel 0-25%
• Field Service or Data Center experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform weekly sweeps of server and storage equipment in the data center, detecting hardware and network connectivity issues; collect and analyze ipmi-sel data and vendor-specific platform management logs
• Diagnose server and storage equipment connectivity issues, including basic troubleshooting of network transceiver and optical fiber signal strength problems
• Engage vendor support organizations by opening support cases and following up on hardware fixes and investigations
• Collaborate with the data center operations team to manage logistical aspects of break-and-fix
• Oversee RMAs for components such as rPDUs, switches, and field-replaceable units
• Provide hardware support for installations, moves, additions, and changes
• Decommission IT equipment such as HDD/SSD, networks, servers, storage, and backup devices
• Conduct regular physical and visual inspections of equipment and data center facilities
• Manage inventory records and regular cycle counts for asset accuracy
• Update documentation for structured cabling and materials during new installations
• Oversee capacity management for space, power, cooling, and patch panel port availability
• Understand and follow incident and change management processes
• Submit regular reports on moves, changes, support requests and other activities
• Perform other duties as assigned
