Job summary

PT GST is seeking an IT technician to support our IDC Data Center operations in Batam. You will understand IDC data center basics, assist with installing and maintaining servers, racks, and hardware, and help manage cabling and rack organization.

You will monitor network devices, troubleshoot latency and outages, support VLANs and basic routing, and prepare daily data reports. Proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese is required, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Educational background of diploma or higher in IT or related field.
• Proactive, detail-oriented with strong responsibility.
• Ability to speak, read and write fluent English and Mandarin Chinese.
• Quick learner with adaptability to changes and overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Understand basic IDC Data Center concepts and functions.
• Install, configure, and maintain physical servers, racks, and hardware.
• Manage cabling, labeling, and rack organization; monitor network devices.
• Troubleshoot latency, outages, and packet loss; perform root cause analysis.
• Prepare daily data statistics reports as required by the customer.
• Respond to alerts and incidents; document outcomes.

Job description

- Understand the basic knowledge of IDC Data Center

- Understand the functions and characteristics of mainstream network equipment (switches, routers, firewalls, etc.)

- Install, configure, and maintain physical servers, racks, and hardware

- Perform hardware upgrades, replacements, and troubleshooting

- Manage cabling (fiber & copper), labeling, and rack organization

- Monitor network connectivity, switches, routers, and firewalls

- Troubleshoot network latency, outages, and packet loss issues

- Support VLANs, IP addressing, and basic routing

- Respond to alerts, outages, and performance issues

- Perform root cause analysis and incident reporting

- Prepare daily data statistical reports according to Customer's needs

- MUST have the ability to communicate and write proficiently in Mandarin Chinese

General requirements :

- Diploma degree or above (welcome new graduates) , IT related major is preferred

- Proactive, good coordination skills, strong sense of responsibility

- Mature, attention to details, good documentation skills

- Must be able to speak , read & write fluent English & Mandarin Chinese

- Quick learning ability, adapt quickly to changes

- Able to work Over-time if required
