Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in cost accounting or a similar financial accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, methodologies and practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheet applications (Excel, SAP or similar systems).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends and patterns in financial data.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.
• Experience in manufacturing, production or similar industries is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse actual costs against budgeted costs, identifying and investigating variances
• Prepare detailed cost reports and financial analyses for management review and decision-making
• Develop and implement cost control policies, procedures and systems to ensure compliance with company standards
• Conduct regular cost audits and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements
• Manage cost accounting records, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all cost data entries
• Coordinate with department heads to gather cost information and reconcile departmental expenses
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements with a focus on cost elements
• Support the development of budgets and forecasts by providing historical cost data and trend analysis
• Train and mentor junior cost accounting staff on procedures, systems and best practices
• Liaise with external auditors and provide supporting documentation for audit activities
