A leading mining company in Indonesia is looking for a Control Room Operator to oversee real-time monitoring of system loads and coordinate with multiple power plants. The ideal candidate should have a degree in Electrical or a related field, and at least 3 years of experience with SCADA systems and power dispatch. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential for this role. This position supports stability in the power grid and involves preparing performance reports.
· Responsible for overseeing real-time monitoring of system loads, coordinating with control rooms across various power plants, and supporting the efficient dispatch of generation units. The operator ensures grid stability and timely execute response to disturbances.
· To operate, monitor and execute the real-time monitoring and efficient dispatch of power generation units across the Site Operations system, ensuring system reliability, minimizing grid losses, and responding to disturbances effectively.
· Operate, monitor and execute real-time monitoring of system loads across different locations in the Site Operations grid, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in data management.
· Communicate and coordinate with individual power plant control rooms to ensure economical and reliable dispatch of generation units, balancing load demands and operational constraints.
· Communicate and coordinate with individual customer control rooms to ensure fulfill load demands and operational reliability.
· Monitor grid performance to identify and address electrical losses, implementing actions to minimize these losses.
· Provide immediate response to system disturbances, coordinating with the Transmission & Distribution (T&D) team to dispatch personnel as needed.
· Assist to prepare regular reports on system performance, grid disturbances, and dispatch efficiency, supporting continuous improvement efforts within the Smart Grid team.
· Other duties as assigned
What skills and experience do you need?
· Tertiary Degree or SMA/ SMK in Electrical or a related field.
· Have minimum 3 years of experience in power dispatch, SCADA, or related fields as Operator Control Room – SCADA/ Power Dispatch
· Proficient in SCADA systems, grid monitoring, and load dispatch techniques.
· Strong communication skills to work effectively with control room teams across multiple power plants; Analytical skills to identify grid losses and recommend solutions for improved efficiency; Ability to respond quickly to system disturbances and manage the dispatch of personnel as necessary.
· Good communication skills in both verbal and written, English literate (min. passive) and computer literate;
