GE Vernova Bandung is seeking a proactive Continuous Improvement Technician to identify inefficiencies and implement lean improvements in the HGP cell. You will prototype with engineering using machining, welding and related processes to boost safety, quality and efficiency.

The role requires a vocational high school diploma and at least two years in manufacturing, plus hands-on welding, machining and air tools experience. Bandung residency is preferred for on-site CI work.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Gather operator feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Documentation of CI projects for work procedure updates.

Job description

I. Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Continuous Improvement (CI) Technician to work directly on our facility for Hot Gas Path (HGP) Cell at PTG Service Center. In this role, you will be an integral part of our skilled workforce, tasked with identifying inefficiencies, project trials, and implementing sustainable solutions using lean methodologies as part of continuous improvement for the facility to make our work safer, better quality, and more efficient.

II. Essential Functions, responsibilities
  • Proactively identify safety hazards, daily inefficiencies, or "pain points" in operations area and propose practical - physical improvements.
  • Create project prototype by coordinating with engineering team using a range of manufacturing processes such as machining (lathe, milling, drilling, etc.), welding (including TIG, SMAW, and/or other welding techniques), and any other manufacturing processes.
  • Responsible for final project items creation as part of continuous improvement after prototype has been done and accepted.
  • Gather feedback from shop operators for continuous improvement.
  • Capture data of record production counts, scrap rates, or cycle times to help prove that an improvement worked.
  • Perform documentation on any continuous improvement projects that will be needed for work procedure enhancement.
  • Conduct periodic 5S check and safety gemba evaluation and resolve them through the continuous improvement project initiation.
  • Maintain the visual shop floor, includes standardizing how tools are labeled, how components are marked, and ensuring the signage is accurately done.
  • Collaborate with operators, supervisors, engineers, KPO team, Lean, and other staff for daily operations & better alignment.
  • Adhere to all EHS procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Monitor the availability of EHS and Quality MOC documents for the changes.
  • Raise any concerns and/or stop works if observing any unsafe condition or quality risks during daily job.
  • Participate in GEV Lean Action Work Out (AWO) event.
III. Qualifications requirements
  • Minimum graduated from vocational high school with major of manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, or other related disciplines.
  • Have at least two years working experience in manufacturing facility.
  • Have experience of doing continuous improvement projects.
  • Have experience with welding, machining (drilling, lathe, or other types of machining), and air tools operations.
