Obayashi-Wijaya Karya-Jaya Konstruksi-JFE Engineering Joint Venture in Jakarta seeks a Commissioning Engineer to lead the wastewater treatment plant startup and ensure a safe, smooth handover from construction to operations.
You will develop commissioning plans, supervise pre-commissioning, conduct performance tests, and coordinate with vendors for equipment start-up while maintaining thorough documentation and ensuring compliance with Indonesian regulations and international standards.
The Commissioning Engineer will lead the commissioning phase of the wastewater treatment plant in Jakarta, Indonesia, ensuring all treatment processes, mechanical equipment, and associated piping systems are safely and successfully transitioned from construction to full operational status.
Key responsibilities include developing commissioning plans and procedures, supervising pre-commissioning works, conducting performance tests, coordinating with subcontractors and vendors for equipment start-up, and providing technical support during the operational readiness phase. The role requires ensuring compliance with Indonesian regulations, international standards, and project specifications while maintaining detailed commissioning documentation and facilitating knowledge transfer to the client's operations team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement comprehensive commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures for all wastewater treatment systems, mechanical equipment, and piping networks in coordination with project stakeholders
Conduct pre-commissioning works, system testing, and performance verification to ensure all equipment and processes meet design specifications, safety standards, and contractual requirements
Supervise equipment start-up activities, coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and resolve technical issues during commissioning phase
Prepare and maintain detailed commissioning documentation including test procedures, inspection reports, performance certificates, and as-built records in compliance with project and regulatory requirements
Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs to client's operations and maintenance personnel, and facilitate smooth handover of fully operational systems from construction to operations team
Ensure all commissioning activities comply with Indonesian regulations, international standards (ISO, ASME, API), and project safety procedures, conducting risk assessments and implementing proper safety protocols
Perform other related duties as assigned by direct supervisor or Project Manager
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related engineering discipline from an accredited institution
Minimum 5 years of experience in commissioning of water/wastewater treatment plants, process facilities, or similar industrial projects with proven track record of successful project completion
Strong knowledge of commissioning methodologies, testing procedures, and industry standards including ISO, ASME, API, and relevant Indonesian regulations for wastewater treatment facilities
Proficient understanding of mechanical systems, process equipment, instrumentation and control systems, and bulk material handling equipment used in water/wastewater treatment applications
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with ability to identify technical issues, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and implement effective corrective actions under tight schedules
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook), and
