Responsibilities

• Operate hatchery equipment (incubators, hatchers, ventilation) and monitor performance.
• Perform regular checks and maintenance and report issues.
• Assist egg setting, chick processing (vaccination, sexing, grading) and dispatch.
• Record data on egg settings, hatch rates, chick quality and environmental parameters.
• Follow biosecurity and sanitation procedures.
• Monitor environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, CO2) and adjust as needed.
• Identify abnormalities in egg or chick quality and report to supervisor.
• Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Comply with company policies, safety regulations and industry standards.

We are seeking a diligent and skilled Commercial Hatchery Operator to join our team at the CF Lengkong facility. This role involves the effective and efficient operation of hatchery equipment and processes to ensure the production of high-quality chicks, contributing to the overall success of our poultry operations.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor various hatchery equipment, including incubators, hatchers, and ventilation systems, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to established protocols.
• Conduct regular checks and maintenance of hatchery machinery and equipment, reporting any malfunctions or issues promptly to the supervisor.
• Assist with egg setting, chick processing (e.g., vaccination, sexing, grading), and chick dispatch activities, maintaining high standards of biosecurity and animal welfare.
• Record and maintain accurate data related to egg setting, hatch rates, chick quality, and environmental parameters.
• Adhere strictly to all biosecurity procedures and sanitation protocols within the hatchery to prevent disease transmission.
• Monitor environmental conditions within the hatchery, including temperature, humidity, and CO2 levels, and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal conditions for embryo development and chick health.
• Identify and report any abnormalities or deviations in egg or chick quality to the supervisor.
• Participate in training programs and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and product quality.
• Comply with all company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.

Job Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience working in a commercial hatchery or a similar agricultural/production environment is highly preferred.
• Basic understanding of poultry farming principles and hatchery operations.
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot basic machinery and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and hygiene.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions.
• Good physical stamina, capable of performing tasks that may require lifting and standing for extended periods.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by hatchery operations.
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills for data recording.
• Knowledge of biosecurity protocols is an advantage.
