Job summary

Japfa is seeking a Farm Operations Manager for the Lengkong henhouse site. You will oversee daily agricultural operations, staff supervision, and adherence to company policies to maximize production and welfare.

The role requires hands-on leadership in a large poultry facility and collaboration with veterinarians, nutritionists, and logistics teams. Responsibilities include health monitoring, biosecurity enforcement, data tracking, and continuous improvement reporting to optimize flock

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Animal Husbandry, Poultry Science, Agriculture, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in commercial poultry farming, with at least 1 year supervisory/managerial experience.
• Strong understanding of poultry health, nutrition and welfare.

Job Summary

Responsible for the efficient and profitable operation of a commercial henhouse facility, ensuring optimal chicken health, welfare, and production within the CF Lengkong site. This role involves overseeing all aspects of daily farm management, staff supervision, and adherence to company policies and industry regulations.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of the commercial henhouse, including feeding, watering, lighting, ventilation, and litter management.
• Monitor chicken health and welfare, implementing preventative measures and administering treatments as needed under veterinary guidance.
• Supervise and train farm staff, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate records of production data, feed consumption, mortality rates, and other relevant farm metrics.
• Implement and enforce biosecurity measures to prevent disease outbreaks and maintain a healthy flock.
• Manage inventory of feed, medications, and other farm supplies, ensuring timely procurement and efficient usage.
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment, coordinating maintenance and repairs as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant animal welfare regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
• Prepare regular reports on farm performance and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with other departments, including veterinarians, nutritionists, and logistics, to optimize overall farm efficiency.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Animal Husbandry, Poultry Science, Agriculture, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial poultry farming, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong understanding of poultry health, nutrition, and welfare principles.
• Proven ability to manage and motivate a team.
• Excellent record-keeping and data analysis skills.
• Knowledge of biosecurity protocols and their implementation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by farm operations.
• Residing in or willing to relocate to the CF Lengkong area.
