Job summary

Austin Engineering Ltd is seeking a CNC Plasma Cutter operator in Batam to produce high-quality parts per technical drawings and specs. You will set amperage, speed, and gas, and cut carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminium while following safety procedures.

The role requires reading CAD drawings, optimizing nesting layouts, and ensuring kerf width and edge finish meet standards. Shift work and overtime may be required, with focus on waste minimization and 5S housekeeping.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate CNC plasma cutting equipment.
• Ability to read CAD drawings and interpret nesting layouts.
• Knowledge of plasma cutting parameters (amperage, speed, gas).
• Familiarity with cutting quality standards and measuring tools.
• Understanding of 5S and safety procedures (K3).

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC Plasma Cutting machine to cut materials per drawings and specs.
• Read CAD drawings and nesting layouts to optimize cutting.
• Set machine parameters for material type and thickness.
• Cut carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
• Ensure cuts meet quality standards and inspect consumables.
• Replace/maintain consumables and keep machine clean.
• Inspect results with measuring tools and report issues to supervisor.
