Job summary

Austin Engineering Ltd in Batam is seeking an experienced FCAW welder to join our fabrication team. You will read blueprints, interpret welding procedures (WPS), and weld carbon steel components according to engineering drawings and specifications.

Qualifications

• Vocational High School (SMK) in Welding/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2-3 years' experience as an FCAW welder in heavy fabrication, mining equipment, shipbuilding, or steel structures.

Responsibilities

• Operate FCAW welding equipment to join, fabricate, and repair metal components per drawings.
• Read and interpret blueprints, welding procedure specifications (WPS), and other technical documents.
• Prepare materials for welding (cleaning, grinding, fitting).
• Inspect finished welds for quality per standards and specifications.
• Maintain welding equipment and perform minor repairs and calibrations.
• Adhere to safety protocols and PPE.
• Collaborate with fitters, fabricators, and supervisors to ensure workflow.
• Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards promptly.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and training programs.
