Austin Engineering Ltd in Indonesia is seeking a CNC Plasma Cutting Operator to fabricate high-quality parts from CAD drawings. You will set machine parameters, read nesting layouts, and optimize material use while maintaining 5S and safety standards.

The role requires reading material characteristics, scheduling maintenance checks on consumables, and collaboration with team members to meet production targets. Shift work and overtime may be required.

• Inspect cuts with measuring tools and maintain 5S standards.
• Report issues to supervisor and assist with maintenance.
• Willing to work shifts and overtime if needed.

Job Description:

Operate CNC Plasma Cutting machine to cut materials based on technical drawings, work specifications, quality standards, and company safety procedures to produce accurate and high-quality products.

Main Responsibilities:

• Operate CNC Plasma Cutting machine for various material thicknesses as needed.


• Read and understand CAD drawings and nesting layouts to optimize the cutting process.


• Set machine parameters such as amperage, cutting speed, and gas selection based on material type and thickness.


• Cut various materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.


• Ensure cutting results meet quality standards (kerf width, bevel, edge finish).Check machine and consumables (nozzle, electrode, shield) before and after operation.


• Replace and maintain consumables to keep machine performance optimal.


• Optimize material use through nesting to minimize waste/scrap.


• Inspect work results using measuring tools.


• Keep machine and work area clean according to 5S standards.


• Follow all work safety procedures (K3).


• Report any issues with work results, machine damage, or operational problems to supervisor..

Qualifications:

• Minimum High School / Vocational School in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.


• Experience operating CNC Plasma Cutting machine is preferred.


• Able to read and understand CAD drawings.


• Understand plasma cutting parameters (amperage, cutting speed, gas selection).


• Understand material characteristics (carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminium).


• Knowledge of plasma cutting consumables and their maintenance.


• Understand cutting quality standards and how to use measuring tools.


• Understand work safety procedures (K3).


• Able to work independently and in a team.


• Willing to work shifts and overtime if needed.
