Wira's Playroom in Jakarta Selatan seeks a Classroom Lead to unite curriculum, IEP goals, therapy carry-over and daily care into one calm, inclusive room. You will set rhythm, supervise teacher assistants, and ensure every child participates.
You will work with specialists, adapt lessons, communicate with parents, and maintain records while following safeguarding policies. The role requires leadership, planning, and strong teamwork in a special-needs setting.
The Classroom Lead is the head teacher of a classroom, and the adult most responsible for what each child experiences during the school day. In a special-needs setting the classroom is where everything meets: the curriculum, each child's individual education plan (IEP), the carry-over from therapy, and the child's day-to-day care and emotional regulation. The Classroom Lead is the person who holds all of that together — in one room, for one group of children, every day. Their job is to make the room a calm, structured, predictable, and inclusive place where every child can learn and take part — and to lead the team of teacher assistants who make that possible at the school's 1:3 ratio.
Run the room day to day, owning the rhythm of the classroom — the visual schedule, the routines, the transitions between activities, and the physical environment
Plan lessons and activities from the framework the Curriculum Lead provides, and adapt them so each child can access the material
Deliver each child's IEP inside the ordinary flow of the day — embedding individual goals into real activities
Lead the teacher assistants by deciding how they are deployed each day, briefing them on each child's goals and how to support them, modelling good practice, and giving feedback and developing them regularly
Track each child's progress against classroom goals, notice when something isn't working, and adjust
Make sure no child is parked or left out — ensure every child is genuinely taking part, not simply present in the room
Work with specialists by making space for them, following the strategies they leave behind, and sharing back what they see
Communicate with parents as the trusted daily point of contact — handovers at the start and end of the day, sharing small wins and honest concerns
Keep classroom records and progress tracking up to date, hold information in confidence, follow the safety and safeguarding policy at all times, and report any concern immediately
Able to lead a team of teacher assistants
Able to plan and deliver learning adapted to individual children's needs
Able to track progress and adjust when something isn't working
Able to work with specialists and embed their strategies into the classroom
Able to communicate effectively with parents
Able to maintain records and follow safeguarding policy
