Job summary

Taylor Thomson Whitting (TTW) is seeking a Civil Drafter to join our Sydney team. You will lead the design and documentation of major civil projects, including road infrastructure, in a digital delivery environment.

You will manage drafting on large projects, mentor junior drafters, liaise with engineers and architects, and contribute to the progressive improvement of drafting systems while delivering high-quality documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Ability to read and implement local state standards.
• Coordinate existing and proposed utilities.
• Interrogate information and data prior to commencing drafting with a keen eye for design parameters.
• Proficient in Civil 3D for drafting major projects with a National Systemised framework for all drawing set aspects.
• Experience delivering large civil projects and leading a project documentation team.

Responsibilities

• You will manage drafting on large projects autonomously and lead junior drafters within the project team.
• Manage small and large projects autonomously where no Lead Engineer is allocated
• Liaise with engineers and architects on the preparation and coordination of documentation.
• Competently convey structural information into drawing format which can be interpreted by builders.
• Assist Lead Engineer in the preparation of preliminary sketch designs from architectural drawings as required.
• Provide training and assistance to junior drafters including technical support of Civil 3D and other software.
• Actively input ideas to the progressive improvement of the drafting systems
• Communicate relevant project information as appropriate to the project leaders/project team.
