Job summary

Pullman Jakarta Central Park is seeking an experienced Chinese Chef to lead the Chinese kitchen operations at a flagship 5-star property. You will prepare authentic dishes, develop new recipes, and mentor the team to maintain high culinary and hygiene standards.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in a Chinese kitchen at a premium property, with English fluency and a passion for guest engagement and culinary innovation. Mandarin is a plus, and the role is on-site at the hotel.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience as Chinese chef in a 5-star/high-volume property.
• Curiosity for culinary trends and guest engagement.
• Fluency in English; Mandarin is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook Chinese dishes with authentic taste and presentation.
• Develop and test new recipes to enhance the menu.
• Supervise kitchen staff and delegate tasks to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards.
• Manage inventory and food costs within budget.
• Balance wok techniques and traditional Chinese methods.

Job Description

A Chinese Chef is responsible for preparing authentic Chinese cuisine, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring high culinary standards and food safety.

Be part of the culinary team of a flagship Premium property with largest ballroom in town, high level corporate and wedding events up to 5000 people.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a wide variety of Chinese dishes, maintaining authentic taste and presentation standards
• Develop and test new recipes to enhance the menu and introduce innovative dishes
• Supervise kitchen staff, delegate tasks efficiently, and ensure smooth kitchen operations
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and hygiene in the kitchen at all times
• Order and manage kitchen inventory, ensuring freshness and quality of ingredients
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards
• Balance flavors and techniques in wok cooking, noodle preparation, and other traditional Chinese methods
• Manage Food Cost and work alongside a budget

Qualifications

Expected of minimun 3 - 5 years experience as Chinese Chef in a 5 star property and high volume activity

Curiosity on culinary trends, improvement and guest engagement

Additional Information

Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities

Fluency in English, additional languages are a plus

Mandarin speaking is a plus
