PT Eastroc Vitamin Energy Indonesia is seeking a Chiller Specialist to operate and maintain industrial chiller systems within our production facility. The role focuses on optimizing chiller performance, energy efficiency, and reducing downtime through preventive maintenance and timely repairs.
Key responsibilities include monitoring chillers, coordinating with production to minimize disruption, maintaining logs, and ensuring HSE compliance.
The Chiller Specialist is responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial chiller systems and related cooling/refrigeration equipment used in the production facility. This role ensures optimal chiller performance, energy efficiency, and minimal downtime to support uninterrupted production processes.
Operate, monitor, and maintain industrial chiller units, cooling towers, compressors, condensers, and related refrigeration systems.
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) and inspections to ensure chiller systems operate at optimal efficiency.
Diagnose and troubleshoot chiller malfunctions, mechanical/electrical issues, and refrigerant system problems, and carry out timely repairs.
Monitor refrigerant levels, pressure, and temperature parameters; perform refrigerant charging, recovery, and leak detection in compliance with safety standards.
Coordinate with the production team to minimize disruption during maintenance activities and respond quickly to breakdowns.
Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service reports, spare-part usage records, and equipment history.
Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations when handling refrigerants and electrical/mechanical equipment.
Recommend and support improvement initiatives to enhance chiller system efficiency and reduce energy consumption.
Manage spare parts inventory for chiller systems and coordinate with vendors/contractors for major repairs or overhauls when required.
Provide technical guidance and training to junior technicians on chiller operation and maintenance best practices.
Minimum Diploma (D3) or Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (RAC), Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum up to 3 years of hands‑on experience as a Chiller/HVAC/Refrigeration Technician or Specialist, preferably in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
Strong knowledge of chiller systems, cooling towers, compressors, and refrigeration cycles.
Familiar with refrigerants and safe handling procedures.
Skilled in reading P&ID/mechanical drawings, using diagnostic tools, and performing preventive/corrective maintenance.
Understanding of basic electrical systems, control panels, and PLC/BMS related to chiller operation is an advantage.
Good analytical and troubleshooting skills with a strong sense of responsibility and safety awareness.
Willing to work in shifts and be on-call for emergency breakdowns when needed.
