Job summary

Manulife/John Hancock seeks a Head of Audit Services Indonesia to lead a team responsible for planning, directing, and delivering high-quality audit engagements across assigned areas including regional and group-wide audits. The role requires independent work, strong risk discipline, and effective communication with senior management and the board.

The incumbent will oversee risk assessments, present findings with practical recommendations, manage budgets and timelines, and coach team members

Qualifications

• 14+ years’ relevant experience in internal audit across life insurance, pension, asset management and/or shariah business.
• Good knowledge of audit methodologies, control frameworks and risk management techniques.
• Actuarial experience in valuation or product development in pricing would be an asset.
• Excellent communication skills, oral and written in Bahasa and English.
• Able to deal with confrontations and resolve conflicts.
• Proven leadership skills and people management capabilities.
• Proven relationship skills to deal effectively with staff at all levels to AVP.
• Results-oriented with focus on quality and delivering value across top risks; manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to understand business processes, identify key controls, analyze complex situations, and influence management.
• Recognized accounting or auditing designations (CA/CMA/CGA/CPA or CIA/CISA).
• Strong team-player who shares ideas and knowledge.
• Able to collaborate in a multi-cultural environment.
• Provide clear and timely constructive feedback and seek feedback for continuous improvement.
• Proactively challenge the status quo and suggest improvements.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead a team to execute audits of assigned areas/countries including regional and group-wide audits.
• Assess adequacy of risk management and internal controls.
• Present findings and make practical, value-added recommendations.
• Prepare clear audit reports per service standards.
• Perform risk assessments and plan audits based on risks.
• Present updates and audit plans to Audit Committee and Senior Management.
• Prepare materials for committees and executive meetings.
• Utilize technology to improve audit efficiency.
• Ensure quality of work completed and manage budgets.
• Coach team members and manage performance.
• Own relationship management for the assigned area/country.
• Provide consulting to business unit management.
• Follow up remediation actions for timely closure.
