Job summary

Astro Technologies Indonesia seeks a Buyer Associate to source and purchase fruits and vegetables meeting quality, pricing, and availability standards. You will monitor supplier performance, perform market benchmarking, and support timely PO fulfillment from Pasar Induk visits to market analysis.

The role requires strong product knowledge, hands-on market assessment, and collaboration with Upstream and Quality teams to resolve issues and maintain accurate reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in Buyer, Purchasing, Procurement, Sourcing, Merchandising, Category, or related roles.
• Experience with fresh products, food ingredients, F&B, grocery, agriculture, or FMCG preferred.
• Experience with fruits & vegetables is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of product quality, freshness, pricing, and price comparison.
• Able to work directly with suppliers on purchasing activities.
• Detail-oriented, hands-on, able to make selection decisions.
• Good communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets.

About this Position

The Buyer Associate will be responsible for selecting and purchasing fruits & vegetables that meet Astro Farm’s quality, pricing, and availability requirements. The role requires strong product knowledge, hands‑on market assessment, and close monitoring of supplier performance, PO fulfillment, and pricing to support efficient and reliable sourcing.

Job Description:

As our Astronaut, your missions are:

Source and select fruits & vegetables based on Astro’s quality, quantity, and pricing requirements.

Check product quality, freshness, specifications, and suitability before purchase.

Compare product prices and conduct market price benchmarking to support the best purchasing decision.

Monitor PO fulfillment and make sure products are delivered according to requirements.

Monitor supplier performance, product consistency, and availability.

Work closely with Upstream, Quality, and other relevant teams to solve product, pricing, or fulfillment issues.

Maintain purchasing, pricing, and execution reports.

Conduct regular visits to Pasar Induk Kramat Jati and other Pasar Induk when needed.

Monitor daily market prices, product availability, and quality.

Support product receive/reject decisions based on Astro’s quality standards.

Be flexible to conduct market visits at night, following fresh produce arrival and trading activities.

Evaluate imported fruits & vegetables based on quality, shelf life, origin, pricing, and specifications.

Monitor import lead time and purchasing timelines.

Manage order quantity based on MOQ, demand forecast, and product shelf life.

Support forecast and import purchasing planning.

Minimum Qualifications

In order to launch the missions successfully, you need to have:

Minimum Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Agribusiness, or related fields.

Have 1–2 years of experience in Buyer, Purchasing, Procurement, Sourcing, Merchandising, Category, or related roles.

Preferably experienced in handling fresh products, food ingredients, F&B, grocery, agriculture, or FMCG categories.

Experience handling fruits & vegetables is highly preferred.

Good understanding of product quality, freshness, specifications, pricing, and price comparison.

Comfortable working directly with suppliers and handling purchasing activities.

Detail-oriented, hands‑on, and comfortable making product selection decisions.

Good communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.

Able to work with Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets.
