Astro Technologies Indonesia is seeking a hands-on Acquisition Associate to expand its vendor ecosystem for fresh produce, including local and imported vegetables and fruits. You will own end-to-end vendor onboarding, manage supplier relationships, and secure direct volume contracts with farmers and distributors.
You will regularly travel to farms and distribution hubs, negotiate pricing and delivery schedules, and analyze performance to improve margins and COGS.
We are looking for a hands-on Acquisition Associate to join our Astro Farm commercial team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in expanding our vendor ecosystem for fresh produce, specifically vegetables and fruits (both local and imported). You will be responsible for end-to-end vendor acquisition, managing relationships with existing suppliers, and securing direct volume contracts from farmers and distributors. Your primary goal is to optimize product availability, lock in competitive pricing, and directly contribute to COGS and margin improvements.
Perform continuous price comparison and performance analysis across vendors to ensure competitive edge and cost efficiency.
Support strategic hulu initiatives, including upcoming setups for physical trading hubs and direct upstream sourcing.
Operate in a mobile environment, conducting frequent site visits across industrial and distribution zones (e.g., Cilincing, Cakung) and farm sites.
Approach, acquire, and onboard prospective vendors for fresh vegetables and fruits, including local suppliers and import vendors.
Manage direct volume contracts with farmers and suppliers across primary agricultural regions in Java (West, Central, East Java) and Lampung.
Conduct regular vendor visits to establish strong rapport, evaluate operations, and maintain ongoing commercial relationships.
Negotiate pricing, volume allocation, and planting/harvesting schedules (pola tanam) to secure optimal supply stability and better margins.
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Agribusiness, Food Technology, or related fields.
Basic understanding of purchasing/procurement processes and supplier management.
Good understanding of vendor management.
Knowledge of fresh produce, food ingredients, or F&B products would be advantageous.
Basic commercial knowledge, including price comparison, cost consideration, and purchasing decisions.
Understanding of food handling, kitchen operations, or basic food quality standards is a plus.
Proven experience in vendor acquisition or supply chain within the agriculture industry, preferably from an agriculture tech startup or fresh supply chain company.
Experience in managing or communicating with fresh produce import vendors is preferred.
Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills to deal with diverse stakeholders, from local farmers to import vendors.
Analytical mindset with the ability to conduct price benchmarking, performance metrics evaluation, and margin impact assessment.
