Job summary

OSI Electronics in Batam, Indonesia, is seeking a procurement professional to manage purchasing of PCBA components, supplier base, and planning activities to meet production needs.

You will coordinate with QA, Engineering, and production teams to ensure on-time material delivery, compliant sourcing, and cost reduction initiatives across multiple commodities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or 3+ years of related work experience.
• 3+ years of Purchasing or Materials management experience, electronics production environment preferred.
• Experience in medical devices or other industry operating under regulatory requirements preferred.
• Experience across a broad range of commodities.
• Experience in planning, forecasting and responding to drop in demand requirements.
• Working knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques, DFx, Lean, Six Sigma preferred.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Strong follow-through, proactive planner, can-do attitude, results oriented.
• Excellent communication skills across organization and with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase PCBA components like ICs, resistors, capacitors, PCB, solder.
• Monitor deliveries to ensure on-time arrival and proper inventory.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop new suppliers locally and overseas.
• Prepare PRs and POs.
• Negotiate pricing, MOQ, lead times, and terms.
• Monitor supplier performance (quality, delivery, service).
• Handle shortages, delays, and quality issues with suppliers.
• Ensure material availability aligns with production schedules.
• Support cost reduction and continuous improvement.
• Monitor inventory to prevent Overstock and shortages.
• Ensure purchases comply with BOM, drawings, specs.
• Coordinate with QA and Engineering to resolve NCRs.
• Maintain purchasing documentation.
• Prepare purchasing reports, cost analyses, supplier performance evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs and policies.
• Coordinate with Production, Planning, Engineering, Warehouse, and Finance.
• Support NPI activities related to new material sourcing.
• Uphold company values and Code of Ethics.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase PCBA electronic components such as ICs, resistors, capacitors, connectors, PCBs, solder materials, and related items.


• Monitor and follow through on deliveries to ensure material arrives on time in the factory and gets received and moved to inventory.


• Identify, evaluate, and develop new local and overseas suppliers.


• Prepare and process Purchase Requisitions (PR) and Purchase Orders (PO)


• Negotiate pricing, MOQ, lead time, and payment terms with suppliers.


• Monitor supplier performance including quality, delivery, and service level.


• Handle material shortages, delivery delays, and quality issues in coordination with suppliers


• Ensure material availability in line with production schedules and forecasts.


• Support cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement activities.


• Monitor inventory levels to prevent overstocking and production shortages


• Ensure purchased materials comply with BOM, drawings, and technical specifications.


• Support supplier audits and compliance requirements (e.g., RoHS, REACH).


• Collaborate with QA and Engineering teams to resolve NCRs and material quality issues


• Maintain complete and accurate purchasing documentation.


• Prepare purchasing reports, cost analysis, and supplier performance evaluations.


• Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company SOPs and policies


• Coordinate closely with Production, Planning, Engineering, Warehouse, and Finance teams.


• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities related to new material sourcing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or 3+ years of directly related work experience can substitute for education.


• 3+ years of Purchasing or Materials management experience, with electronics production environment preferred.


• Experience in medical devices or other industry operating under regulatory requirements preferred.
