We are looking for a Business Development Officer to support Occam’s efforts in generating new business opportunities and acquiring clients. This role involves researching potential clients, coordinating outreach activities, and tracking prospect engagement. The Business Development Officer will work closely with Occam’s Management to ensure a consistent pipeline of prospective business opportunities.
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, business administration, or a related field
2–3 years of experience in business development, sales support, or client services — preferably in a PR agency, communications consultancy, or professional services company
Basic familiarity with the Indonesian PR and communications industry
Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM tools or spreadsheets for tracking prospects
Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia with professional-level English (able to write emails and prepare materials in English)
Prospect Research and Lead Generation: Find and research companies that could become Occam’s clients.
Pipeline Tracking and Reporting: Keep an up-to-date record of every prospect Occam is in contact with, including where each prospect is in the sales process (for example: first contact, meeting scheduled, proposal sent, or deal closed).
Market Monitoring: Stay informed about what is happening in the Indonesian PR and communications industry. Share useful findings with the team on a regular basis so that Occam can spot new opportunities early.
Outreach and Relationship Building: Reach out to potential clients through email, phone, and professional networking platforms. Attend industry events and professional gatherings to meet prospective clients and build Occam’s visibility.
Internal Coordination: Work with the consultancy team to make sure the information shared with prospects about Occam’s services is accurate and up to date. Help the finance team with basic tasks like preparing quotations and drafting initial contract documents for new clients.
