Job description

We are seeking an experienced Ballast Engineer to join our Engineering team and support complex marine operations across offshore, shipyard, port, and major infrastructure projects. This role is critical in ensuring the safe, stable, and technically sound execution of heavy cargo transport and marine load-out activities.

On the land side, Roll Group operates a large number of modern heavy-lift cranes with capacities of up to 4,000 tons, Self-Propelled Modular Trailers (SPMTs) and conventional trailers. The specific characteristics of Roll Group’s asset base ensure the ability to serve a wide range of markets, such as Mining, Oil & Gas and Renewable Energy.

  • Perform stability calculations (displacement, drafts, trim, heel/list, GM, free-surface effect, wind heeling, damaged stability, etc.).
  • Evaluate deck loading, longitudinal/transverse strength, and structural capacity.
  • Provide field engineering support during mobilization, trials, and critical operations.
  • Coordinate with Naval Architects, Marine Warranty Surveyors, classification societies, and client engineering teams.
