Job summary

Kulu is hiring an infrastructure engineer to migrate from AWS to GCP, build monitoring from the ground up, and keep production healthy as the platform scales in Bali. You will own the realtime platform, CI/CD, and security across systems, reporting to the CTO within the Foundation team.

The role emphasizes strong engineering fundamentals, well-tested code, and operational excellence as the team grows toward a Bali-centric culture.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of production experience in DevOps, SRE, Cloud/Platform engineering or backend infra.
• Experience owning infrastructure as code (Terraform/OpenTofu).
• Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK).
• Strong Python (asyncio) and Bash scripting.
• Operational AWS or GCP experience; IAM, VPC, networking.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and fault-tolerant design.
• PostgreSQL and Redis production experience.
• Security best practices in infra and apps.
• AI tooling to read/write/debug code.
• Fluent English communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Kulu's real-time platform, including WebRTC, multimodal LLM sessions, and the Python backend.
• Own reliability, performance, and observability of core services and telemetry.
• Own the LLM streaming session layer, including connection lifecycle and timeouts.
• Manage deployment and infrastructure across AWS; drive IaC with OpenTofu.
• Maintain production platform; triage incidents and feed learnings into runbooks and code.
• Build services handling sensitive meeting data with privacy and auditability.
• Contribute to architecture decisions focusing on correctness, data integrity, and security.
• Maintain documentation and champion operational excellence.
• Ship end-to-end: migrate, deploy, and monitor dashboards.
