Job summary

StraitsX is seeking a mid-level Software Engineer with a strong backend focus to join our Fiat Payment Products team in Jakarta. You will build and operate the systems behind fiat and stablecoin payment rails, including our Public API powering deposits, payouts, swaps, and settlement for merchants such as crypto exchanges and fintech platforms.

The role is backend-heavy; you will work with product managers and other engineers to deliver on the roadmap and ensure production reliability as

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of backend engineering experience in Ruby on Rails, Golang, or related technologies.
• Strong SQL and relational database design (MySQL or PostgreSQL).
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Comfortable with CI/CD concepts and version control (Git).
• Good written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Build and deliver backend features across fiat and stablecoin payment flows and Public API.
• Collaborate with product managers to shape requirements and roadmap.
• Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and apply engineering best practices.
• Ensure system availability and reliability through monitoring, testing, and maintenance as traffic scales.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and secure scalable systems.
• Participate in code reviews, backlog grooming, and sprint planning.
• Support merchant integrations and L2 investigation with the team.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to integrate backend services smoothly.
