Job summary

PLT Engineering in Jakarta is seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to join our Tech Family. You will develop scalable backend systems powering Southeast Asia products and take ownership of complex problems end to end.

You will lead design discussions, ensure high-quality code through reviews, and collaborate with product, mobile, data, and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable payment-related experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience building scalable backend systems.
• Strong understanding of design and architectural trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and operation of scalable backend services and platform components.
• Convert product requirements into technical solutions and drive design discussions.
• Oversee delivery of high-quality code with testing, performance, observability, and reviews.
• Partner with product, business, mobile, web, data, and infra teams to solve end-to-end challenges.
• Improve service reliability through monitoring, incident response, and root cause analysis.
• Participate in on-call rotation and take ownership during production incidents.
• Guide engineers through coaching, design reviews, and knowledge sharing.
• Identify ongoing improvements in engineering processes and system health.
