Job summary

Syngenta Seeds seeks an experienced automation engineer to lead plant automation projects across AMEA seed sites and work with regional/global peers to align standards. You will select technologies with vendors, justify investments, and support IT/OT integration and cybersecurity.

The role requires 5+ years in OT automation, strong analytical skills, and English proficiency. On-site work in Surabaya, Indonesia offers collaboration across production teams and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• BS min. in CS, EE, Industrial Eng, Mechatronics or equivalent.
• 5+ years in maintenance, OT automation, electrical systems or project delivery.
• Understanding of IT/OT, industrial processes and power distribution.
• Ability to manage cross-country projects.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Lean Six Sigma knowledge (green belt+) is a plus.
• Languages: local language plus English.

Responsibilities

• Develop, lead, and support plant automation projects across AMEA seed production sites.
• Collaborate with regional/global peers to align standards and share best practices.
• Work with vendors to select the right technology for today and future.
• Support business cases on automation and OT/data investments.
• Provide regional LAN hardware support for OT and IT networks.
• Develop and maintain site SCADA software and hardware.
• Support site control systems to comply with cybersecurity standards.
• Assist training to raise OT knowledge in production teams.
• Establish preventive maintenance practices for automation systems.
• Coordinate with local maintenance to follow regular maintenance on site control systems.
• Ensure work complies with safety, environmental and site policies.
• Troubleshoot automation issues to find root cause.
• Support RCA process with maintenance teams.
• Document inspection, replacement, and troubleshooting of automation.
• Drive continuous improvement to site SCADA reporting aligning to global standards.
• Promote reapplication culture by capturing and sharing best practices.
