Job summary

Saipem Indonesia is seeking a seasoned Instrumentation & Control Engineer to lead design and integration of control, automation, and instrument systems for onshore and offshore oil & gas facilities.

You will review P&IDs, I/O lists, and control narratives; coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams; mentor junior engineers and support testing, commissioning, and start-up to ensure integrity and compliance with IEC, ISA, API, and ISO standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Control Systems or related field.
• Experience with ICSS and control system engineering in oil & gas, EPC, or industrial sectors.
• Familiar with engineering standards, design calculations, and cost budgeting.
• Ability to manage documentation and technical proposals.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering and design of Control, Automation, and Instrumentation systems for onshore/offshore facilities.
• Develop and review control specifications, requisitions, and bid evaluations.
• Prepare P&IDs, I/O lists, control narratives, and loop diagrams.
• Coordinate DCS/PLC/SCADA/SIS/ESD, F&G, and other control systems integration.
• Mentor junior engineers and support project planning, risk management, and technical assurance.

How can you support us? Here are below your responsibilities:

1. Manage the engineering and design of Control, Automation, and Instrumentation systems and associated interfaces for onshore and offshore Oil & Gas facilities.
2. Develop and review Control and Automation specifications, requisitions, and technical bid evaluations.
3. Prepare and review P&IDs, instrument index, I/O lists, control narratives, cause & effect charts, shutdown logic, and loop diagrams.
4. Taking part in the design and integration of DCS, PLC, SCADA, SIS/ESD, Fire & Gas (F&G), and package control systems.
5. Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities with Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Piping, and Telecommunications disciplines.
6. Review vendor documents and ensure compliance with project specifications and client standards.
7. Support HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, FAT, SAT, and Integrated System Testing activities.
8. Provide technical support during construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and plant start-up.
9. Resolve technical queries, deviations, concession requests, and site engineering issues.
10. Ensure all Control and Automation engineering deliverables comply with IEC, ISA, API, IEEE, ISO, NFPA, and international engineering standards.
11. Participate in technical meetings with clients, licensors, other EPC contractors, and vendors.
12. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the engineering team.
13. Support project planning, scheduling, progress reporting, risk management, and technical assurance activities.

What are we looking for?

1. Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Control Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
2. Experience in instrumentation, ICSS (Integrated Control and Safety Systems), and control system engineering within the oil and gas, EPC, or industrial sectors.
3. Knowledge of instrumentation and control system calculations, engineering studies, and configuration definition.
4. Familiarity with engineering design activities, applicable international standards, codes, and regulations.
5. Ability to perform quantity estimation, engineering man-hour estimation, and cost budgeting, including monitoring and reporting.
6. Experience in engineering documentation management, technical reporting, and preparation of technical proposals.
7. Knowledge of engineering subcontractor management, vendor coordination, and technical bid evaluation.
8. Familiarity with engineering software and tools relevant to instrumentation and control systems.
9. Understanding of equipment testing, material testing, and quality control requirements.
10. Knowledge of HSE standards and safe work practices in engineering activities.
11. Good analytical, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
12. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering team and meet project deadlines.
